New Stadium Development for Aberystwyth

New Stadium Plans for Park Avenue

New Stadium Plans for Park Avenue

Aberystwyth Town Chairman Tony Bates last night announced proposals for major new developments at Park Avenue at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Club.

The proposals concern a potential £13m development in collaboration with Tai Ceredigion, which would see 80 new flats being built down the River side of the Stadium. The project would also bring a substantial investment in Club Facilities, in the form of a brand new 500 seater stand, Clubhouse / restaurant facility, ancilliary rooms, community facilities and a dedicated youth centre.

Central to the business plan would also be the instillation of a 3G pitch to ensure Park Avenue becomes a hub of community activity throughout the week.

The EGM unanimously welcomed the proposals for this iconic development, and if all goes to plan work should begin in September 2014.

Club Chairman Tony Bates told this morning;

"Although there are a number of hurdles yet to be overcome, both Tai Ceredigion and Aberystwyth Town Football Club are committed to making this exciting scheme work."

At the EGM it was also agreed that Only those persons who are either a Life Vice President or an Honorary Life Vice President or who have paid the annual Vice President’s subscription of Aberystwyth Town Football Club (“The Club”) shall be eligible for membership of the Company.

The Club AGM announced an 5% annual loss of £12,104 on a turnover of £215,905, and the Board of Directors were re-appointed en bloc.
