This saw a total of 72 games played with 400 plus playing opportunities. This was just on yesterday alone which is a fantastic achievement by all academies.

Looking forward now we have another jam packed weekend of futsal action this Saturday and Sunday with our under 8, 9, 13 and 15 academy sides.

Saturday 18th January

Under 8s festival will be a 9:45 kick off. All sides asked to arrive no later than 9:30 for team briefs.

Under 8 sides confirmed include:

Gap Connah's Quay Nomads, Airbus UK Broughton, Rhyl, Prestatyn Town, Newtown and The New Saints.

Under 9s festival will be a 11:30 kick off. All sides are asked to arrive no later than 11:15.

Under 9s sides confirmed include:

Gap Connah's Quay Nomads, Airbus UK Broughton, Rhyl, Prestatyn Town, Newtown and Bangor City.

As their is a high uptake for these two age groups and availability of pitches clubs are only able to bring one team for these two age groups.

Sunday 19th January

Sunday we have the under 13 and 15 festivals back underway. Their are morning events again on Sunday with local junior futsal games so festivals will be 12:00 and 14:00 kick offs.

Clubs are able to put two sides into these events if they wish. I will need to know by Wednesday please whether academies will be entering one or two teams in so I can sort fixtures.

Again these will be round robin events with all teams facing each other.

Under 13 sides confirmed:

Gap Connah's Quay Nomads, Bala Town, The New Saints, Rhyl, Prestatyn Town, Newtown, Bangor City, Flint Town United

Under 15 sides confirmed:

Gap Connah's Quay Nomads, Bala Town, The New Saints, Rhyl, Prestatyn Town, Bangor City, Flint Town United

Sunday 26th January - North Wales Academy Futsal Cup Finals

The format of the finals day for U12, U14 and U16 sides will ensure all academies participate in finals games regardless of league position.

All sides will play a minimum of two fixtures, which will be forty-minute fixtures. 2 x 20 minute half’s.

These will all take place on the 3G futsal courts all bar the grand North Wales final.

The grand final between the two winners of the first placed semi finals will be played inside the Deeside leisure Centre full sized futsal court which the Welsh national team have played international fixtures on.

The final will include the full stage and arena allowing for all remaining ten sides academy players, staff and parents to watch the grand final and presentations.

Following the final the winning side will be presented with winning shield and medals. The second and third placed sides will also receive medals and a player of the tournament will be given out which can be won by any single player from all academies.

Following the finals their will be a final group photo of all players in the indoor arena also.

This will be something different to the futsal programme this year and we hope it will add to the current events even further.

The basic kick off times of the day for all sides will include:

9:30 kick off – semi finals

10:15 kick off – finals

11:15 kick off – grand final
