SCOTT Young insists there is no pressure on Guillem Bauza to make an instant impact at Port Talbot Town, writes the South Wales Evening Post.

The former Swansea City forward made a surprise return to South Wales last week when he signed for the Steelmen.

Bauza was then handed his Port Talbot debut on Saturday as he was introduced for the final 30 minutes of a 2-1 defeat to Bangor.

Struggling for match sharpness after five months out of football, the former Spanish youth international failed to make his mark on the match. But director of football Young revealed he will be patient with Bauza, who has also played for Northampton, Hereford and Exeter.

"Bauza's a good player and he will hopefully make an impact, but it will be in time," said the former Cardiff City defender.

"The issue at the moment is that he has only trained with us twice so he's nowhere near fit enough. It'll take time and we need to patient with him."

Bauza is expected to be named in Young's travelling squad for Port Talbot's visit to Newtown on Saturday.

The Steelmen are looking for a spark to ignite their season after a poor start to the campaign.

Saturday's loss to Bangor was their sixth in 11 Welsh Premier League matches, only two of which they have won.

And it came just days after Young's men suffered Word Cup embarrassment when they were knocked out of the competition by Cambrian and Clydach.
