Carmarthen Town have lost their appeal to have Chris Thomas' red card overturned after an FAW disciplinary commission sat on Thursday afternoon.

Thomas was shown a straight red card by referee Mark Whitby in last Saturday's live televised clash at Richmond Park in a 4-4 draw against Bangor City.

Thomas was dismissed by Whitby according to Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct, which describes a sending-off offence as "denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player's goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick."

Bangor City forward Chris Jones was through on goal in the 4th minute of the match at Richmond Park when Thomas fouled his opponent, leaving Whitby with no option according to Law 12.

Thomas will serve his one-match suspension against Bala Town at Maes Tegid on Saturday, 19th October.
