Preece Prepared for Citizens Showdown

Airbus UK v Bangor - yn fyw ar Sgorio ddydd Sadwrn KO 3.45

ANDY Preece insists there is no pressure on his Wingmakers ahead of the biggest match in the club's 67-year history.

Victory in Saturday's live televised clash at home to bogey side Bangor City would see Airbus UK Broughton qualify for Europe for the first time.

Preece and his players could be forgiven for feeling the tension but the club's director of football isn't having any of it.

"There's a massive buzz about the place because something like this has never happened to the club before," Preece says.

"It's a new experience, one that everyone wants to be involved in and it's one we are going to enjoy.

"We couldn't have picked it better, what with the cameras being there, with it being at home and with it being against Bangor, one of the best-supported clubs in the country.

"We've done brilliantly so far this season, now we've just got to try and finish it off. You can talk about pressure for this one game but I think we've been through all the pressure to get to the position we're in.

"Now it's time to relax and enjoy it."

Airbus and Bangor are locked on 51 points going into Saturday's showdown which is the penultimate game of the season for both clubs.

But the Airmen have a vastly-superior goal difference and a win would effectively seal a Europa League place with one game to spare.

That would represent a truly-remarkable achievement for Airbus who, just 13 years ago, were playing in the third-tier Welsh National League.

Bangor have won 13 of the last 14 meetings between the sides including four this season, but Preece remains confident.

"We could have won or drawn the majority of the games we've played against them this season," he added.

"All of them have been decided by fine margins and Bangor know it won't be a foregone conclusion.

"We are at home and we've got a really good chance."
