Wingmakers and Citizens still battling for Runners-Up

Airbus UK Broughton 2-0 Carmarthen Town

Airbus UK consolidated their place in second by claiming the three points against the Old as their European dream continues. The Wingmakers took the lead through Jordan Johnson at the Airfield just before the half-hour, after Town were forced into an early change, with Sam Wilson being replaced by debutant Finton O'Brien after just 22 minutes. That was the only goal of the first half in Broughton, but the lead was doubled on 63 minutes when Wingmakers' skipper Ian Kearney scored and that claimed the maximum points.

Prestatyn Town 0-1 Bangor City

The Citizens ensured that the gap between them and Airbus remains at three points as Chris Simm scored the only goal of the game at Bastion Road.

Simm actually came closest in a close opening half, but City's leading scorer was denied by Jon Hill-Dunt in the Town goal shortly before the break and it remained 0-0 at the interval.

There was more excitement after the break and the hosts thought that they had taken the lead when leading scorer Andy Parkinson found the back of the net, only to see the assistant referee flag. Almost immediately at the other end, the net bulged again, but this time it was given as Simm headed in from sub Sion Edwards' corner on 67 minutes.

Aberystwyth Town 1-1 gap Connahs Quay

Mark Jones scored the opening goal of the match at Park Avenue, netting after just five minutes. The same man was close to doubling the lead half way through the first half, but the Nomads cleared his shot from off the line. After Aber lost midfield general Bari Morgan through injury, with Glyndwr Hughes replacing him, Wyn Thomas went close for the Seasiders, but he saw his header fly over from a corner.

Aber were made to pay for those missed chances as Nomads restored parity on 33 minutes with Jamie Petrie beating Mike Lewis to equalise. It was almost an instant response from the hosts, but they had a goal ruled out for offside and it was level at the break.

There were no goals after the break, so it was honours even on the night.
