Matty Collins has broken his collar bone
Aberystwyth Town have been dealt a blow with news that influential midfielder Matty Collins is likely to be out for the rest of the season.
Popular midfielder Collins suffered a nasty injury in Friday's Welsh Premier League defeat to Bala Town and Aberystwyth Town have confirmed that he has broken his collar-bone. A club statement on Saturday confirmed;
"After a visit to Bronglais Hospital last night (Friday), and another to the Heath Hospital in Cardiff this morning (Saturday), it was confirmed that Collins has broken his collar bone, and he is hoping to undergo an operation this week to correct the damage.
Matty has been one of Aber's most consistent performers this season, and his presence in central midfield will be sorely missed.
"Clearly this will means that he will be absent from first team action for a number of weeks. Matty has been one of Aber's most consistent performers this season, and his presence in central midfield will be sorely missed."
Collins joined the Seasiders this season from the defunct Neath FC, having previosuly played for Haverfordwest County in the Welsh Premier League. He was also a professional at Fulham and Swansea City.
