Port Talbot Town have confirmed that David Brooks has committed his future to the club, having signed a new 18-month contract.

"We're very pleased that David has agreed a new contract with us. He has been progressing really well and his recent Welsh semi-pro Under-23 cap is evidence of his outstanding form this season." said Chairman Andrew Edwards.

Brooks, 23, moved to the GenQuip Stadium in May 2010 after former boss Mark Jones spotted him playing for lower-league Bridgend Street and he revealed that he hopes to achieve European football with the club.

"It’s been difficult with Mark Jones leaving but it’s a great club. We have a strong squad and I’m pretty certain that we’re capable of challenging for a place in Europa League," he said.

The tricky left-winger has enjoyed an impressive campaign this term, becoming a firm fans' favourite, with six goals to his name already.

After making himself a strong candidate for man of the match against Prestatyn last Saturday, Brooks is focused on sustaining his form and wants to continue to impress the club’s supporters.

"We have the best fans in the league who support me week in, week out; I just want to go out and do my best for them."
