Bangor push Bala aside in Sgorio fixture

The Citizens pick up a big win early on beating last season's runners-up at the Bangor University Stadium thanks to Allen and Nardiello.

Bangor City 2-0 Bala Town

Damien Allen (10), Daniel Nardiello (21)

Bangor City came out on top in the Gwynedd derby against Bala Town thanks to first half goals from Damien Allen and Dan Nardiello.

After an evenly-contested opening, Brayden Shaw squared the ball for Allen, who hit a sweet strike into the bottom corner. Eleven minutes later, Nardiello beat Stuart Jones to a long clearance from keeper Connor Roberts before firing home the second.

Gary Roberts saw his free kick deflected onto the woodwork by Lakesiders' keeper Alex Lynch as City started to dominate.

After the break, Lynch saved with an outstretched leg from Shaw, with sub Mike Hayes going close with a header for Bala and then shooting wide from inside the box. But City were rarely troubled as they clinched the victory.
