Fit-again Bulmer returns to the Wingmakers

Niki Lee-Bulmer has returned to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium, three years after leaving the club with injury problems, to provide competition for the goalkeeping gloves with Ryan Neild.

The Chester-born 24-year-old attracted the attention of Manchester United as an 11-year-old, spending five years at Old Trafford before joining Queens Park Rangers.

A regular member of the Under-18s, Bulmer was loaned to Hayes & Yeading before being released in December 2010 and signed for the Wingmakers the following February.

After missing the whole of season 2012/13 with a dislocated shoulder, he was loaned to Rhyl in October 2013. Bulmer left Belle Vue in the summer of 2014 and signed for Gap Connah's Quay in October the same year, and has made a total of 36 WPL career appearances to date, all but five in Airbus colours.

"Niki is a great addition to the squad and will provide healthy competition for Ryan," says goalkeeper coach Chris Doran.

"Niki has fully recovered from his previous injury and is delighted to be back at the club."

Manager Andrew Thomas has also promoted Under-19 player Rhys Jones to the first team squad.

Jones was one of three players from the Airbus academy called-up by the Wales Under-18 Academies' representative squad in November 2014.
