Oswell to miss the Play-Offs

Top marksman out of Play-Offs clash as Robins prepare for Europe.

Newtown's leading marksman Jason Oswell is set to miss the end of season Play-Offs for a chance of UEFA Europa League Qualifier football.

Oswell has amassed 22 goals so far this season, including three hat-tricks, and is now on the cusp of winning the golden boot award.

However the Robins were dealt a blow, when it was announced he will miss the play-offs due to a long standing commitment to his job.

Chris Hughes announced on Sgorio after Friday's win that Oswell has a commitment that he has to meet, relating to his final placement of his degree in Physiotherapy.

Oswell will be going out to Uganda with a charity called Knowledge for Change, and will be working at Kyaninga Child Development Centre.

He will be helping children with neurological conditions, and children in the community who don't have much support or ways of getting to the centre.

During his stay in the country, the Robins striker will also be going into schools to raise awareness of basic things such as hygiene.

Oswell said: "I am going for four weeks, and it will be a life changing opportunity, working with people who have very limited resources in a poor area."

Later this week Oswell will be talking to Newtown AFC TV ahead of his trip, and the club wishes him all the best on his journey.
