Welsh Cup winners boost back line ahead of new season

Connah's Quay Nomads have announced the signing of Danny Holmes.

The right-back joins from Bangor City, where he made 33 appearances this season, scoring once.

Speaking to the club website, Nomads boss Andy Morrison said: "We're absolutely delighted to welcome Danny Holmes to Connah's Quay. For me, Danny was the outstanding full-back in the league last season and he further strengthens our squad going forwards."

Holmes tweeted "Delighted to be signing. Back with some old friends and looking forward to a successful season." He also tweeted his thanks to Bangor, saying "Wish the club nothing but the best and have made a few friends for life!"

Bangor meanwhile tweeted out "We would like to thank @Danny15Holmes for a superb season with the club and wish him every success @the_nomads #ForzaBangor".
