Citizens release Anderson Cayola

Bangor City FC have confirmed that forward Anderson Cayola has been released after the club opted not to extend his contract.

In a statement on the club website, Bangor thanked Cayola for his services and revealed that he has been invited to trial with Maltese Premier League club Birkikara FC.

Bolivian-born Cayola joined the Citizens in July 2017, having impressed during a trial period after being scouted whilst in the UK with the LSA (Learning Soccer Academy) during the summer.

Anderson made his full debut in the opening JD WPL win over The New Saints, providing an assist for the opening goal before converting a late penalty as City beat the reigning champions 5-2.

Overall, Cayola made 5 full (plus 3 substitute) appearances in the JD WPL for The Citizens in addition to Nathaniel MG Cup and JD Welsh Cup appearances including one of the goals in the 4-3 win over Cwmamman United in the latter competition.
