Experienced WPL defender Stuart Jones joined Bala Town in June 2016 from Aberystwyth Town and made his debut for the Lakesiders against AIK Solna in the Europa League. Jones was a key member of the Bala squad, which lifted the JD Welsh Cup in 2017, meaning he has won the competition with two clubs, having also played in the successful Llanelli team.\r\n\r\nThe former Aberystwyth Town club captain spent four seasons at Park Avenue, where he was a rock in the centre of defence, never more so than the season in which the Seasiders finished fourth, reached the Welsh Cup final and qualified for the Europa League in 2013/14.\r\n\r\nBased in Borth, Jones signed for his local Welsh Premier League club in May 2012 He began his career at Swansea City, and although he made over 30 appearances for the Swans between 2003 and 2005, moved on at the end of the 2004/05 season. Llanelli made no hesitation in making Stuart their first full time signing for over 50 years, and over the next 7 years made almost 200 appearances for the side and in that time at the club won the League, League Cup and Welsh Cup and qualified for Europe on several occasions. Stuart has also earned caps for both the Wales Under 21's and the Welsh Semi Pro squads, and has been named in the Welsh Premier Team of the Year on no less than 4 occasions.\r\n\r\nHe made over 100 WPL appearances for Aber and has amassed over 300 WPL appearances in total - Never as a substitute!
