Matthew Cook: 2008/2009 Biography & Statistics

Left the club on the September Transfer Deadline Day in 2008 after just 2 appearances in the 2008/09 Season and joined near rivals Airbus UK Broughton.

Crewe born Matthew lives in Wrexham and was released by Chester City after having been at Leigh RMI. He was snapped up by the Druids in June 2005. He has excellent distribution skills and an eye for goal. He was capped for Wales at under-19 level.

Matthew was dealt a major set back in September 2006 when he suffered a double leg fracture, breaking both his Tibia and Fibia in the FAW Premier Cup against Welshpool. He was initially ruled out for nine months, meaning a very premature end to the 2006/07 season, but worse was to come for the young winger when he was told that he would need another operation in September 2007, meaning that he would miss the entire 2007/08 Season as well. It was great to see him return to fitness to play twice for the Ancients in the 2008/09 campaign.
