Shelton Payne: 2016/2017 Biography & Statistics

Nomads made Cardiff-born Payne a deadline day signing in August 2016 and he made his debut as a second half sub against Bala Town in a 1-1 draw live on Sgorio. He spell with Nomads was hampered by injuries and after failing to establish himself with the club, he moved to Rhyl in the 2016/17 close-season.

Manchester-based Payne is an attacking midfielder or tricky winger who previously played in the Welsh Premier for Port Talbot Town. His other clubs include FC United, Trafford, Hednesford Town, Colwyn Bay, Ramsbottom Utd and Salford City.

Payne's first spell in the WPL came when he joined Port Talbot Town in July 2008 from Dinas Powys, following his previous Manager Nicky Tucker and friend Drew Fahiya to the GenQuip Stadium. The midfielder was 19 at the time of joining the Steelmen.

He had trials with Cardiff City and Crystal Palace when he was based in Barry, South Wales.
