An injury time header by Tony Davies snatched a valuable late point for Bala and denied The Saints a nine point lead at the top of the table.

The Champions began strongly and when Matthew Williams was fouled after 5 minutes - Mike Wilde stepped up to claim his first goal of the evening from the spot a minute later.

Bala Town responded well and began the second half on fire as Mark Connolly netted calmly a minute after the break.

However the Champions - and Wilde in particular - showed their class after 69 minutes - as the prolific striker struck a sweet half volley past Ashley Morris from outside the area to restore the visitors' lead.

The Lakesiders pressed looking for a second equaliser of the evening and Davies responded in the nick of time as added time was being played.

This result still leaves The New Saints seven points clear at the top of the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League. Bala are still three points behind Carmarthen who currently occupy the precious sixth position.
