Liam's Dramatic Last-Gasp Winner sends Old Gold Top

Carmarthen Town made it two wins from two with a dramatic winner with almost the last kick of the game from Liam Thomas.

The Old Gold lost ‘keeper Steve Cann through injury to his left shoulder in the opening half-hour and without a keeper on the bench, Jon Hood took the gloves. Despite this set-back, the visitors took the lead just moments later, as they broke quickly and Corey Thomas kept his cool to place his shot passed Ben Chapman after great approach play from Danny Thomas and Jack Christopher.

Airbus were on level terms on 68 minutes when Jack Lewis scored the Wingmakers’ first goal of the season. Tom Field chipped a free-kick into the box but Carl Evans’ half clearance as he fell to the ground landed at Lewis’ feet inside the box and the left-back beat Hood with ease.

It looked as though the match would end in a stalemate, but from nowhere, Liam Thomas created some space and drilled an excellent 30-metre shot into the bottom corner.
