Griffiths Hat-Trick sinks former Club

Haverfordwest County 0-4 Llanelli

Llanelli striker Rhys Griffiths was at his prolific best at his fomer stomping-ground as he bagged a hat-trick for the visitors who ran out 4-0 winners at the Bridge Meadow Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Despite injuries to Chris Holloway, Martyn Giles and Craig Moses, boss Andy Legg was pleased that Owain Warlow and Antonio Corbisiero were both passed fit and Ashley Morris returned in goal. County made two changes from the side that beat Airbus UK on Saturday with ex-Red Lee Jarman returning at the back in place on Kyle Graves and Jamie Bradford coming in for Saturday's Man of the Match Matty Collins.

It was evident that the loss of the ex-Swansea City midfielder would be a blow to the hosts, and they fell behind in the 25th minute when striker Griffiths scored the opener. Warlow, who only rejoined the club when the injury crisis struck at Stebonheath, showed his worth when he doubled the advantage with his second of the campaign, just eight minutes later.

Griffiths then struck a further brace after the interval to cap a fine night with the third on 67 minutes and his hat-trick with a minute of normal time to play with a spectacular effort to show just how important he is to the team.

Llanelli have now climbed up to third in the Principality Welsh Premier League and County remain in ninth.
