Llanelli kept the pressure on Principality Welsh Premier League leaders Rhyl, with a 5-0 win at Caernarfon Town's Oval Ground on Saturday afternoon. The win reduces the Lilywhites' lead back to seven points after a good performance against the League's bottom side.
Rhys Griffiths returned to the side following suspension to head home the opener from a fine Lee Phillips' cross after just two minutes, maintaining his excellent record of scoring against the Cofis every time he's played against them for the Reds. Andy Legg almost doubled the advantage, but his free-kick was well saved by 'keeper Lee Guinon. They managed to get the second on the stroke of Half-Time, when Stephen Evans tapped home from a well-worked free-kick.
There were three further goals after the break, the first with Jason Bowen latching on to a Griffiths through-ball on 53 minutes to apply a sublime finish, to make it 3-0. Griffiths headed home his 27th League goal of the Season from an Andy Legg cross to make it 4-0 on 67 minutes and four minutes from time, Evans grabbed his second from a quickly taken Griffiths free-kick.
