Wingmakers succumb to Bogey Side Aber

MANY folk think there is no such thing as a bogey side - but try telling that to the Airbus faithfuls who have watched their side host opponents Aberystwyth Town without a win in five outings.

It was an even opening period but Aber broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when Ross Stephens, with an inch-perfect cross, found Glyndwr Hughes and he headed past Airbus keeper Phil Palethorpe from close range.

The visitors were able to double their tally 10 minutes into the second half when Geoff Kellaway beat 'keeper Palethorpe to a teasing cross from Gareth Hughes. The Flintshire side upped the tempo and deservedly pulled a goal back with 20 minutes left, but it was a wind-assisted freak of a score.

Aber held out to chalk up their sixth away victory of the campaign. Manager Brian Coyne said, "This was a job well done. The conditions were atrocious but it was a hard-working performance which saw us return home with all three on the board."
