Kick off:14:30 Saturday, 27 Sept 2008
Fixture Type: Welsh Premier League
Referee: Lee Evans
Peter Nicholas had to make a late-change to his side at Cefn Druids, as Lee Phillips had to be pulled out of the line up just prior to kick off after suddenly being taken ill, with Matthew Jones starting at right back instead.
And it was former Wales International, Jones who was fouled after 3 minutes and from the resulting freekick, Stephen Evans headed home, but the goal was disallowed for offiside. Evans did open the scoring in the 6th minute though when he headed home a cross again, and this time it stood.
Just after the half-hour the Druids went close to an equaliser, but shot just wide of Craig Morris's goal. After 36 minutes midfielder Andrew Mumford forced a fantastic save out of the home keeper Chirs Mullock and the Reds continued to press as the half came to a close, with just the final ball elusive.
The visitors finally went 2-0 up on 63 minutes, when Andy Legg crossed and Antonio Corbisiero headed down into Chris Holloway's path and he scrambled the ball over the line.
It was soon 3-0 as great interplay from Andrew Legg, Stephen Evans and Mark Pritchard, resulted in Evans heading home his second goal of the game on 76 minutes. The Reds scored their fourth on 88 minutes, with Rhys Griffiths forcing the ball home after Mullock had parried a Craig Jones cross.
