The prolific Rhys Griffiths bagged another hat-trick as Llanelli displayed their Sunday Best against NEWI Cefn Druids at Plaskynaston this afternoon, winning 5-2 away from home. The Reds took the lead when Griffiths opened his account with a third minute penalty. He registered his double, after 22 minutes but had to wait until the second minute of stoppage time to seal his second hat-trick in two matches in 2008.
The Druids pulled back to 2-1 after Darren Williams scored on 33 minutes and they were level on the hour when Chris McGinn leveled. The hopes of the hosts salvaging a point were reduced though, when midfielder Chris Holloway (63) regained the visitors' advantage and it wasn't until the final minute of normal time that the unfortunate Druids player/manager, Waynne Phillips scored in his own net, before the League's leading scorer made it five.
