JOHN Rowley's 11th goal of the campaign, squeezed in with seven minutes of stoppage time being played, spared Caernarfon Town's blushes in a dour struggle with Newi Cefn Druids.
When James Thomas' last- gasp corner floated into the congested goalmouth, home striker Rowley rose above the rest to provide a headed finish that snatched a point. Newi had taken a 73rd minute lead thanks to Osian Jones, shortly after he had joined the action as a sub - and he found the net from six yards after Kevin Holsgrove's cross from the left. At all other times, both sides huffed and puffed when anywhere near the target. Caernarfon's best situations involved Paul Addo, when he favoured a pass to a team-mate rather than shoot himself, and James Thomas, who likewise offered a centre when a direct attempt was wanted. Joint manager Lee Jones was among Druids' culprits, steering a couple of tame efforts straight at Caernarfon's Vinnie Whelan, while Holsgrove also merely tested the keeper.
