Former Citizens inspire Lilywhites to defeat Bangor

THERE will be no title capitulation from Rhyl, who extended their unbeaten league run to 11 against a Bangor side losing for the first time in eight outings.

Rhyl's fans did not have to wait long to raise a cheer, with former Citizen Lee Hunt firing home his 13th league goal of the season after nine minutes.

But the Citizens fought back well and drew level midway through the first half through Steve Wynne.

The second half belonged to another former Bangor man, as Marc Connolly, put the Lilywhites in front again with a firm, 54th-minute header, then converted from the spot a minute from time.

The only downside for hosts' boss John Hulse was the dismissal of skipper and central defender George Horan by referee Paul Southall.
