Late Moody strike denies Robins excellent win

<1>Former Newtown defender Adrian Moody (left) spoilt the party for his former side by equalising in the 90th minute for Rhyl, denying a shock win for the Robins. Rhyl had a great chance to cut down TNS' lead at the top who also drew, but any thoughts of an easy home win were eradicated by Darren Ryan's determined side.

A 17th minute Damien Daniels goal gave Newtown a deserved lead with the Robins midfield looking more stable with the presence of former Port Talbot man Nicky Jones.

Rhyl equalised in the 38th minute through skipper George Horan to take the teams in level at the break. But, just after the second half restart, Newtown took the lead following the conversion of a Glenn Tolley penalty after Matt Lewis was brought down in the box. The Robins looked to be holding onto their fine lead and deprive the championship chasers of three vital points, but a 90th minute piledriver by Moody, slipped under keeper Jon Rowley.
